The latest video filmed in his company shows Koenigsegg talk about wheels. And it is quite amusing to hear all the magnificent technical details which make Koenigsegg wheels probably the best in the world.
First of all, the wheels are all carbon fiber. Using this material, Koenigsegg engineers could figure out how to create a hollow wheel design but retain all the rigidness, safety and the strength of the wheel. What is more, they can shape the wheels like no aluminum wheels could be shaped.
Interestingly enough, the Koenigsegg carbon-fiber wheels are among the lightest in the world. Even though Koenigsegg needed to widen the wheels at the front due to a heavier nose of the Regera, they still remained superlight. This is a crucial part of the car as Koenigsegg needs all the elements to be as light as possible. After all, they even ditched the classic transmission setup freeing up space and lowering the weight. True, this is only for the Regera which moves about with three electric motors and one massively powerful V8. It is estimated the system develops fantastic 1,500 hp. No, it cannot transfer it all to the ground in one instant, thus the acceleration is capped by the wheel grip. Christian estimated the car will reach 62 mph in 2,8 seconds. However, the top speed is at fantastic 250+ mph.
