Yes, the Alfa Romeo 4C is fast and fun. Yes, the Tesla Model S P90D is awesome in a straight line and the new Model X is the same. However, what if we compared the Alfa 4C – a small, light and powerful car with the behemoth the Model X is!? Could they be compared in any way!?
Well, they can and they have been compared on a track – a drag race track. There is a catch, however. A guy called Sterling Anderson – former director of Tesla’s Model X Program, organized a drag race between the Alfa 4C and the seven-seat SUV Model X. The only difference between these two was that the Model X actually towed another Alfa Romeo 4C on a trailer. We are not joking. The massive 5000+lbs car had a trailer behind with a working car on it and it went racing the Italian sporting awesomeness that the Alfa Romeo 4C definitely is.
The results are in the video. We won’t write down by how much did the Tesla Model X SUV win, but it did and that is worrying for the prospects of internal combustion. How, for the love of anything sacred will ICE stack against electric motors and batteries of the future!? It simply cannot handle all that intensity and torque massive electric motors are putting down instantly. Interesting times will follevenA seven seat MPV/SUV is so fast that not even an italian sports car can handle it. At least not in a straight line.
