What is with all the speed 526hp Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R should give us!? Hennessey Performance tested a bare stock car for its top speed and they managed to hit 169 mph. Ok, that is not slow in anyone’s book, but we really did expect a bit more. However, we should not. We should not because the Shelby GT350R is a track car. It is meant to deal with the chicanes and curves all over the world’s best tracks and not to handle the standing mile competition. In that case, 169 mph we can see here is more than enough for us and for anyone else.
Now, Hennessey Performance is known for its amazing works on almost all American supercars. They will do their magic on the fantastic GT350R too and the first thing we are certain they will attempt is to integrate a large supercharger on top of that fantastically sounding flat-plane crank V8. What we would suggest is to install a bit different transmission. Actually, the gears with longer ratios should be sufficient to let the engine breath in a bit different fashion and let that 526hp sing their way all the way to 186 mph. We are sure they would be capable of bringing the car to the magical speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Now, with the supercharger kit and new gearing, we are looking at incredible 200 mph in a Shelby Mustang.
Hennessey Performance already developed a tuning kit which can increase the power of the Ford engine up to 800 mph. HPE800 is easily powerful enough to make the Ford accelerate to 60 mph in 3,3 seconds and to give the car a quarter of a mile time of just 10,8 seconds. That is an astonishing feat.
