Preparing a Nissan GT-R for some insane speeds requires a lot of skill and patience. And it requires a lot of aftermarket parts. Many car garages around the world are working on perfecting the GT-R and getting the most out of its engines. This GT-R with massive 2,000hp represented here was just like that – tuned to insanity, up to 2,000hp. But the real story here is not a successful one. Guys driving the Insanity Racing’s 2000hp Switzer Goliath X GT-R made a move and tried to reach 225 mph with it. Unfortunately, something went bad and they lost control at insane 218 mph.
After close inspection, it was concluded that the aftermarket control arm broke which definitely was more than enough for the driver to lose control. Apparently, the car did not start to roll – although the footage from the GoPro looks like it did. Nevertheless, the driver was not hurt or injured in any way and the car allegedly suffered only minor damage.
The team will try again to reach the 225 mph and that in the same car. After all, they certainly invested a whole lot in a car and an unfortunate accident like this should not deter them from making a record-breaking run with it.
TalonTSi97 Videos who published the video on YouTube also commented below and told us what the owner said.
“Car has a roll cage and a fire suppression system. No chute and nothing would have helped. The car snapped an aftermarket camber arm, suspension got loose and sent the car into a spin,” the owner stated after the accident.
