Faraday Future is an all new company funded by Chinese money, created by the minds of American and European engineers. Honestly, Faraday Future tried to draw engineers, designers and other important individuals from other big companies (BMW and Tesla Motors especially) simply by giving them more money. Well, they have succeeded and now, after one year of work, their first car bowed the crowd at the CES 2016. Called the FFZERO1, this concept car is actually only a glimpse of what we can expect from the company. This one is powered by four electric engines producing 1000hp and the driver inside actually sits in a special chair and manages the car with some kind of smartphone interface. Also, this one is created only for one person, and Faraday even mentioned it can travel autonomously – on the streets and on the track.
Mentioning the track in the same sentence with the term autonomous is a bit bizarre, but we have to say that the Faraday Future ZERO1 looks captivating. It actually looks a bit like the Vision Gran Turismo cars we saw last year.
Now, apart from the car, Faraday Future promises a lot of novelties for the whole automotive industry and for transportation in general. Basically, they have the idea to practically rent out their autonomous cars and free up people from having to own cars. We will have to wait a few years to see how all this pans out.
