14 units of the best Donkervoort to date will be produced. This is the Bilster Berg Donkervoort D8 GTO and it is in the bizarre part of the automotive industry. Just take a look at it and wonder what kind of weed the Dutch used when building this magnificent machine. We know that drugs helped almost all artists to make their best works of art and this Donkervoort almost belongs to the artistic world of musicians, painters and sculptors. It is just so bizarre, low and attractive that it almost looks like an American Hot Rod but with a fixed roof.
We bet that Donkervoort designers took some inspiration from the American Hot Rods while making this car. There is no other explanation for such a low roof. The changes in comparison with the “normal” Donkervoort are notable. The whole front end is different, the interior is full of Bilster Berg badges and the roll cage is redesigned. That is, for sure, much more changed than anyone would expect from such a small company.
More importantly, this car is prepped for the race. It has a digital instrument cluster with GPS tracking and with the possibility to measure track time. It is equipped with carbon fiber seats like in a full fledged sports car and its wheels are covered with a specially developed Hankook semi slick rubber .
We are sure this Donkervoort can make some damage on the track, especially because it is powered by a 2,5 liter Audi sourced turbocharged five cylinder monster. This one is a rather powerful engine that provides almost godly performance for this lightweight rwd vehicle. We are not sure about performance so feel free to update us on that although we are pretty sure this €194.000 machine will eat the Ferrari 458 Italia in a straight line (and with the bold driver in corners also).
