The Russians did it again and created the most unreasonable vehicle you have ever seen. This thing does not steer its wheels, it brakes one side of them to turn just like a tank and even more importantly, it can float through water thanks to insanely large wheels fitted to it. This is how the Russians conquer the nature in a way you never thought possible.
What we have here is a machine designed by a man called Aleksei Garagashian and dubbed the Sherp. It is a simple design employing a metal tub, simple axle system and skid-steer system which makes it possible to drive over any kind of slippery terrain. It would not work as good on the tarmac, but then again, why would you ever go to tarmac when this thing can float and conquer lakes. With massive tires, light machine, powered by 1.5L Kubota diesel engine it is not exactly fast, but it is capable. Top speed of 29 mph is more than enough for getting through all kinds of terrain while the top speed over water is around 4 mph. It is slow, of course, but why would you need more!?
The Sharp platform is an open design which means the customers can rig the thing as they like and buy the finished product for just $49.000. It is not the cheapest amateur build, but it seems it can do a lot.
We are not quite sure that the Russians will ship this thing anywhere outside their country, but if money is not an issue, it is probably possible to get one.
