Differences between various generations of Ferrari cars are incredible. What will the next one be like?! How can a supercar become faster than it is now!? Well, we will not dwell on that yet, but we will enjoy seeing a drag race between the Ferrari 458 Speciale and the 430 Scuderia. These are the best Ferraris from their own time frames and while we considered the 430 Scuderia as one of the best cars ever, the 458 Italia came by and showed how much better it can be.
The drag race between the two lightweight sports cars shows how much of an improvement the new car really is. Now, to see the 488 GTB in the race would be gold, but even like this we get to witness incredible and quite surprisingly difference between two generations of a Ferrari mid range supercar.
Trying to refresh your (and our) knowledge about the two led us to quite an extraordinary fact – the power to weight ratio in both cars is under 3 kg per one horse power. Now, the Speciale gets 2,5 kilograms per one hp, while the Scuderia hits 2,9 kilograms per hp. That is a supercar segment, isn’t it?!
All this power and low weight led the 458 Speciale to 60 mph in three seconds. The 430 Scuderia needs one second more for the same job. Also, the Scuderia has more than 100hp less power in comparison with the 600 hp 458 Speciale. Nevertheless, this is an awesome race showing that we can expect even more radical improvements in the future.
