Marketing wars between car manufacturers will never end. And that is a great thing. We remember those awesome BMW vs Audi marketing matches and now, Mercedes-Benz went all bold about it with congratulating BMW their 100th anniversary. Now, however, Volvo came into play by trolling just about any car ever. Setting a rather elaborate and cool hydraulic system which converts mechanical to electrical energy on the highway in California, Volvo actually made possible for every vehicle that passes over it to produce a bit of electricity.
Then, they made an awesome stand for the all-new Volvo XC90 and linked it with the system which charged its batteries. Every time a car passes by, Volvo’s team thank them with a message on a large display.
Now, this really is trolling the industry a big time. No wonder that Volvo succeeded in upping their sales by a huge margin thanks to clever marketing and products so good they almost sell by themselves. As for the XC90 T8 which was shown here, the car is like a perfect alternative to any other SUV really. It is large, modern, extremely safe and cool at the same time. And it has a hybrid system delivering 407hp. That is a neat car for sure, especially when we are aware it has a hybrid system so efficient it consumes less than a low class sedan.
The commercial actually does not say anything about it, but it does give us a glimpse of a life we all could lead sometime in the future. Electric cars are coming big and Volvo with its hybrids is in the middle of the transformation.
