It says – “this is what I’m made of” and it was reworked by the famous Swedish singer Jonathan Johansson for this occasion. And yes, it is absolutely perfect for the occasion. Actually so perfect it’s bound to give you chills when you listen to if while watching the new Volvo S90 charge down the Swedish roads.
Now, let us talk about the car. Please welcome and embrace it, especially its rear side because it will grow on you in a matter of days. Using the design philosophy previously introduced on the Volvo XC90, the designers almost perfectly integrated all the features on the new car as well. The S90 received that attractive yet dignified “Thor’s Hammer” front lights, appealing, but gentle and elegant front mask and its rear end was directly sourced from the Volvo Coupe Concept introduced before. The result is automotive art and perfection only achievable by the Swedes. This car forgets aggressiveness, yet it delivers the blend of elegance, utmost precision and sharpness of Audi and BMW and magnificent looks.
The same story goes for the inside where wood, finely shaped metal and glass dominate. The buttons are reduced almost to nothingness thanks to the large tablet like central display which provides exceptional control over almost every car function. And yes, this Volvo is the safest sedan out there – it also can drive all by itself – at least on the highway.
The engines powering it are turbocharged petrol units or a hybrid system in the T8 model which delivers 407hp. The same as in the XC90.
