We are sorry to say but the Dodge Challenger Hellcat is still one of the most sought after muscle cars to ever graze the earth’s surface. It is all about its insane 707hp engine which does not need any tune up to provide excellent sports cars and even supercars shredding acceleration. However, when in a fight against the import tuned to give as much as it can in short bursts of drag acceleration, even the Hellcat has some problems. That is why this one has been tuned from 707hp to 900+hp. This way, the owner stacked it against the Toyota Supra Mk3 with a 2JZ running with a monster turbocharger pushing out 30 psi. The end result is much the same as on the Hellcat – 920hp and 800 lb-ft of torque.
This time, however, the winner was not the one to finish the quarter of a mile race first. No! The winner is the one who cloaks the highest speed at the trap. Considering that the Hellcat weighs a whole lot than a stripped out and lean Supra, not many expected it to be fast enough and reach the number enough for a win.
Enjoy the Muscle vs Import race and keep in mind that power is not everything. Weight reduction, aero efficiency and even suspension setup all play a pivotal role in achieving high speeds.
If you ask yourself how can an old Supra be this fast, we’ll just remind you of its stripped out interior, upped engine and a whole lot of bucks invested into it.
