Sabine Schmitz is the only girl presenting the new Top Gear. She is cool. Called the Queen of the ‘Ring, she grew up in the middle of Nurburgring and learned every single corner of it by heart. She is the girl who is so good that she almost drove a Ford Transit Van around the ‘Ring in less than ten minutes. Now, that is one hell of an achievement considering how though the ‘Ring really is.
Now, she is in an all different type of a car – in a Porsche 911 GT3 and she is getting it through the bends at ridiculous speed so effortlessly it looks like she is eating a pie. Having this much confidence clearly is a sign of professionalism. The 911 GT3 is definitely a tough car to drive so skillfully, but for its latest generation, Porsche did equip it with an awesome rear wheel steering system. With it, the 911 GT3 and its four-liter engine are far easier to tame despite low weight and highly powerful engine. Sabine Schmitz is actually narrating the drive and conveying all the impressions she feels when going through the bends with this great machine. Fascinatingly, she feels that her private old gen GT3 is actually a bit more rewarding and alive. Bear in mind, the new one has an electric steering system while the old one has a classic servo assistance.
Many reported before that the 911 GT3 steering is among the best in the business and Sabine is actually OK with that statement, only she finds it a bit frustratingly dull in really extreme situations. All in all, the newest 911 GT3 is awesome and much faster than any from before. What is more, we can hardly wait to see Sabine thundering down the Top Gear Track. That will be a blast.
