Honda S600 was the first Honda to ever be imported to the US. Actually, it was the first Honda created for the international market. The car featured a small 600cc engine, it had a weight of 1.600 lbs and was a small, sporty and rather appealing car whose low fuel consumption and great reliability paved the way from the great Honda cars we have now.
Nowadays, the S600 is just a nice classic, but one guy gave it a full-on overhaul while preparing it for drag racing. And we are not talking about some low-grade drag racing – this Honda S600 is capable of achieving incredible drag racing feats and incredible times. Through the installation of the 2JZ Toyota engine inside, this small Honda was transformed from the ground up. The engine required some rather profound changes. However, tuners actually tuned the engine as well. The 3.2 L six cylinder was graced with two billet turbochargers, Turbosmart Blow-off valves and the power got transferred to the back via a Proglide automatic transmission.
The tuned engine churns out incredible 1002hp and gives the S600 an insane power to weight ratio. How fast is it!? Well, this thing is an eight-second car whose driver, Phil Penny, uses it in a really, really exciting way. Yes, awesome burnouts are usually linked with American Muscle cars, but please brace yourselves for a stunning burnout and awesome warmups. This Honda S600 is far from anything it was long before.
