Not that we do not like the Honda CRX Del Sol, but it would be great if it were a bit better. One way of improving it is getting rid of all parts that made it unappealing. Or, you may build upon it. For example, take a look at this fascinating Honda CRX Del Sol with a tricked out 1.8 L Honda engine. How tricked out!? Well, picture this – the owner rigged it with the Precision 76mm turbo working with 53 psi of boost. New Intake manifold is in place, new water intercoolers are preventing everything from blowing up and the ECU is updated to keep all the modern stuff in check.
With so many new elements (including new connecting rods, and much of the internals of the engine), the engine churns out far more power than ever before. Actually, it gives out incredible power of 1000hp. Take that Bugatti Veyron. This is even more impressive when we know it is about 2400 lbs heavy. The Bugatti Veyron has twice the weight.
As the Del Sol is a front wheel drive car, the massively powerful engine sending all the power to the front required some rather large tires. This thing is fitted with enormous wide drag radials at the front. These are good for enough traction for 8,8-second passes on the Drag Strip. Now that is some rather tricky business to achieve.
