Should we get excited about this BMW X3 from Russia!? Why did BMW forget this!? Why didn’t they let that insane three-liter tri-turbo diesel engine enter the BMW X3 world and grant it the power of gods!? This BMW F25 X3 originally left the factory with the well known BMW three-liter turbodiesel engine producing somewhere around 245hp. In this case, a guy from Russia took things to a whole new level and installed a massive engine from the M50d in it.
To refresh your knowledge, we will just tell you that the three-liter engine from the M50d has 381 diesel hp and enough torque to spin the world around. BMW did not do it, but, as shown here, it can be done with some incredible results. And not only that the new engine hit the X3 stock, but the Russians tuned it to produce 550hp and insane torque of 1000 Nm. That is a lot of power and the transmission, xDrive system, and the suspension will have a lot of work to do to translate this to the ground. While it works, the X3 is a sports car killer. It was clocked hitting 62mph in 3,6 seconds and it can even accelerate from 62 mph to 124 mph in 9,5 seconds which is incredible. The quarter of a mile race is cracked in 12 seconds which additionally confirms supercar capabilities of this massive SUV.
And yes, the guy even confirmed that the thing will consume around 12 liters per a 100 kilometers run which is really amazing for the sheer numbers it can produce.
