In searching for the right ways to perfect its vehicles, BMW definitely made some amazing advancements in the recent years. Their M cars have become much more precise, much faster and a whole lot more impressive than before. Actually, they’ve become so incredible that the Motorsport tuned SUVs of today are as fast and as exciting as the performance coupes only from five years ago. Look at this astonishing drag race between the F85 BMW X6 M and one of the best M3 cars of all times – the E90 DKG.
Despite the weight advantage, the M3 isn’t able to keep up with the modern powerdome whose engine produces more than 570 HP. Bear in mind that the E90 BMW M3 has a V8 four liter engine with power of more than 400 HP. That is a lot by any means, but it is not enough to keep up with the 4,4 liter turbocharged engine in the larger, heavier, less aerodynamic, but faster X5M.

They are, of course, gas-guzzlers, but who cares when they can achieve such incredible runs. It is interesting to watch the race in full as the BMW M3 stays rather close to the X5M and even starts to catch up at high speeds. The aerodynamics of the X5M aren’t the best for high speed runs, but they are good enough to make almost any other car fall short of its amazing performance.
