And it’s here. Melded from the inspiration drawn directly out of the studio where the Mercedes-Benz S-class Coupe was made, the new C-class Coupe really does have all the ingredients to make you feel you are in an S for a fraction of price. It is long, sleek, low, wide and it has that modern dash of gracefulness that all new Mercedes cars got when the executives said they are fed up with cars that don’t look progressive. This is the progress. This is the future and we honestly and truly like it a lot.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-class coupe is 2.4 inches longer than its predecessor. Luckily, it received an all-new interior directly from the C-class sedan and it definitely has the flair of a luxury car with the rear horizontal lights smartly echoing these on the S-class coupe. Not only did it receive the C-class interior (one of the best in the business), but a whole complement of advanced equipment, modern driving aids and best possible suspension hardware was borrowed and adapted for use on this vehicle. The result is one of the best looking, most advanced and definitely most stylish small coupes out there. BMW has its own 4 series, Audi has yet to reveal the new A5, while Lexus already marches on with its RC.
Of course, the only true competition comes from Audi and BMW, but Mercedes promised that this time they’ll be the best in the business.
For now, the C300 and the C300 4Matic are the only ones detailed, but we can expect much more variants, with the AMG C63 S Coupe being the most potent one. For that car, Mercedes officials said that they’ll do anything they can top the M4. That is a bold statement, but then again, we are talking about the AMG here.
