This is the Ferrari F40 GT and it is one of only 10 factory produced units Ferrari prepared for competition series. Back in the Eighties, the F40 was basically the epitome for a supercar – a machine other cars looked up to. Despite its incredible speed, Ferrari have created an even more insane racing version car. The project was lead by Giuliano Michelotto, the man in charge of preparing the mighty Lancia Stratos for rallying adventures. The end result is the car you can see in this video. Ferrari have produced around ten units, but they have sold kits to private teams which they could use for constructing their own machines. It seems that around 20 of Ferrari’s F40 GT’s are in the world right now.
The differences between the classic car and the GT version are rather profound. As it seems, the exterior panels are even lighter. The engine has been improved as well as the breaking system, cooling and newly adjusted suspension. This is basically a fully prepped racing car and seeing one hooning on the farm is a bit eye watering and crazy satisfying. Yes, this is what rich people do in their free time and it is quite astonishing. The video shows just how crazy the rich can be with enough free time on their hands.
As you may remember we have already seen the Ferrari Enzo, the Ferrari F50 and even the mighty Ferrari 288 GTO in the same scenery and the F40 GT is just one more addition to the list.
