Having a week pass without seeing the Dodge Challenger in some kind of action would be a sad sight really. So, this time, we have one rather impressive race between the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and, guess what, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. What is important to note here is that the one car is stock while the other was tuned and modified by Hennessey Performance.
While the stock one has the insane power of 707hp, the one from Hennessey Performance received a massive HPE850 tuning kit. The package adds a lot on top of the stock car. HPE850 brings an all new ECU upgrade, high-flow air filter, port-matched throttle body, and an upgraded lower pulley. Obviously, the supercharger can push more now. As Hennessey Performance reports, it improves the boost by 2 pounds per square inch.
As you may guess, Texas-based Hennessey Performance offers the HPE1000 setup too, but that one was not integrated into this Challenger. After the HPE850 was added, the power increased to, you have guessed it, 850hp. That is a lot, but even with so much power, the first few feet were neck and neck. However, when the added boost started to kick in, the Challenger HPE850 gained some ground and jumped ahead. There, it stayed till the end actually making the difference between the two ever more visible. American Muscle Here.
