Pro driver Randy Pobst from the Motor Trend Channel gives us another lesson in racing in its own funny, yet highly educational way. The third episode of The Racing Line brings us closer to perfecting all the theoretical knowledge about driving on the race track, not crashing and being faster than many others. In this episode, the viewer has a chance to learn how to use the stick shift the right way, when to change gears, how to heel and toe and how to calm down the car before going into an apex.
Using a magnificent Cadillac ATS-V with a stick shift, Randy will literally teach you every single thing you need to know about driving a stick on a race car. Amazingly enough, Cadillac provided the Motor Trend Channel with two ATS-Vs – one with an automatic and the other with a stick shift. If you finding a perfect balance with the shifter you can win some races and when you really get the hang of it shifting can become so rewarding you will never ever want to get into a car with an automatic.
There is, however, one slight issue right here. Right at the end of the video, Pro driver Randy goes out to tackle the race track with the ATS-V manual and with the ATS-V automatic. Press play to see which one will be faster around the track. It might surprise you.
