Porsche will have a meaner version of the Cayman S and this is the Porsche Cayman R which had its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This is 10 bhp more powerful and 121 lb lighter than the Cayman S and this is built specifically to give out true road performance and aggressiveness. This sports car still has the same engine as its older brother but it is tweaked to give out maximum performance.
The heart of the Cayman R is a 3.4 liter 6 cylinder engine that develops 330 bhp and mated to a six speed manual gear box that can launch this sports car from 0-100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. There is also another option to change its transmission into a 7 speed PDK gearbox that can help improve launch speed of 0-100 in 4.9 seconds or a Sport Chrono Package that can still lower it to 4.7 seconds.
Top speed of the Cayman R is estimated to reach 282 km/h. This is also a mid-engine rear wheel menace; this only shows that it has the characteristic of being a performer. This will go on sale in February of 2011.
