Porsche 911 R is possibly the most engaging car released this year. It has all the right stuff – N/A engine, it is lightweight, it is the most expensive 911 in the lineup and it can go like stink. What is even more amazing is that the car is built in Germany – a country that has wide, good roads without speed limits. Welcome a video which shows how crazy the limited edition Porsche 911 R can get on the autobahn. Behind the wheel was an Evo Magazine journalist who took the car and made it run for its money on the autobahn.
He ventured out on the Autobahn to find out what is the top speed of the monster. Porsche officially claims a top speed of 201 mph and, believe it or not, the Evo journalist reached 200 mph on the public road.
Now, we are not even surprised that the 911 R can do what Porsche said it can. After all, it has 3.020 lbs and an amazing engine upped to 500hp. So it is lighter even than the GT3 RS. What is incredible is that it is able to do 200 mph on public roads. Yes, the autobahn is unrestricted on some of its parts, but seeing Porsche doing this kind of speeds while possibly passing caravans, semi-trucks and wagons is staggering, to say the least.
So, we have here a video showing 500hp n/a engined car with a manual, 9.000 rpm red line and a German autobahn. It does not get any better than this, does it!? Perfection.
