Jaguar F-Type R is a cool car. It looks right, sounds mean and has some really cool features to show off. However, it seems the whole motoring world somehow forgot to tell us that it is not as fast as one would hope for. True, it is fast, but not when compared to similar cars of today. Porsche, we are looking at you! This race between the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Jaguar F-Type R proves a lot in that regard.
Although the Jag has a bigger supercharged engine, the Porsche obliterated it in a drag race. Ok, we have to be honest, and acknowledge that the Porsche is a lighter machine rigged almost solely for racing and it also has that beautifully engineered double clutch gearbox. Regardless, the results of the race are somewhat disturbing as the Porsche moved away from the Jaguar F-Type R as if the driver in the F-Type completely forgot to press the gas pedal.
GTBoard organized the race and demonstrated the might that lays deep beneath the rear hatch of the Porsche. There is a four liter 500hp engine with 354 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the Jag has a five liter V8 with 550hp and massive 501 lb-ft of torque. Nevertheless, the power to weight ratio is where the Porsche dominates as it has 1hp to push 3,1 kilograms, as opposed to the Jag whose 1hp pushes 3,4 kilograms.
Nevertheless, the Porsche really thought the Jag a lesson here. We are curious what would happen if the Jag F-Type SVR was in place of this F-Type R!?
