Never underestimate the power of British engineering. This McLaren is an absolutely fantastic creation grown from the minds of engineers working for McLaren. Great minds they most certainly are as they successfully used already known architecture to build and create a car which is supercar fast, but costs only 7.4 percent of the price of McLaren’s most expensive creation – the P1 GTR. This is the McLaren 570S Sprint and there is a good chance you will never see it. Like, ever. Why? Because this thing is created for car enthusiasts who enjoy track drive. The 570S Sprint is not road eligible. It is only a track car. Furthermore, McLaren did not make it for any racing series. It is only crafted for enthusiasts (although, they sell a simple GT4 eligible kit so one can race it in the GT4 racing series).
Differentiating it from other McLaren cars is the all-new aerodynamic package. It is designed to provide as much downforce as possible. With it and with this epic livery, the car does look a bit more sinister and far more “racy” compared with the classic 570S. Does it go faster!?
Well, it is hunkered down and lightened. Even the passenger seat is optional and the racing equipment includes central lock magnesium wheels, fantastic race tires, and adjusted suspension. Furthermore, McLaren reported they did optimize the engine and the transmission although we are not sure how. And yes, it does sound quite different – much better. As ever, it continues using the 3.8 L V8 Biturbo engine. For the road going version, it produces 570hp. Here, maybe a tad more.
