The Euro VI exhaust emission standard is a strict regulation that will take into effect by 2014. Brabus has an answer… and we can now welcome the first performance tuned diesel vehicle to meet their requirements.
This tuning company based in Germany used its new ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit which is a plug and play device that can produce a respectable increase in the engine’s power output.
The 3.0 liter V6 engine is now juiced to produce 55 bhp and 70Nm more from the stock engine. This is one brilliant piece of invention considering that this is just a plug and play kit. The total muscle this car can now produce is rated at 313 bhp with 690 Nm of torque. It even has an on and off button!
This can now blast 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds which is half a second faster than the production car. With its “Eco Mode” through its 7G tronic plus automatic transmission, torque can be increased but the power output will be electronically limited at 258 bhp.
Car tuners always have one good trick up on their sleeves. Brabus is just one good example why auto freaks are so into tuned cars.
