Get ready for one powerful hatch and it’s ready to give staggering numbers. This is the Mercedes Benz B55 and it’s a V8 Powered B Class! Yes you’ve read it correctly as this little hatch has a monstrous engine under the hood. Sad to say this is only a one-off prototype, AMG didn’t build this car but their team of trainees at Mercedes’ Rastatt factory in Germany did. This is really one great idea and on my own opinion this should be in production.
The powerplant used is the type of engine you can see on high end saloons. This is a superseded 5.5 liter V8 that helps this hatch to breathe a massive 383 bhp with 391 lb ft of torque. This was also given the characteristic a performance car as it was turned into a rear wheel drive beast.
To make this happen a new transmission system needs to be installed and they have used a MCT seven speed transmission. This is totally a riot car and it now can detonate from 0-100 k/h in just slightly over 5 seconds, it also has the potential of having a max speed of 300 km/h.
Maybe Mercedes can look at this as a serious basis of this car being placed into production. With impressive numbers and performance this is surely a car to beat if sold in the industry.
