A new racing beast has come to life and this is the track version of the McLaren MP4-12C. There is only once surprise with the race version of this Maclaren as it produces much lesser power than the street legal car and it’s about 100 bhp lower. Don’t be fooled by its power output because this is much more agile and aggressive than the stock car and this is built only for one purpose and that is to win in a competition!
The McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Racer still uses the same V8 3.8 liter twin turbo engine which is internally known as the M838T. The muscle that this car produces can reach 493 bhp and it is truly inferior to the stock car’s 592 bhp but this is well compensated on its weight reduction program and its aerodynamic package.
The GT3 racer uses a new six speed sequential gearbox which is 80 kg lighter than the production car’s seven speed transmission. This version also borrowed some F1 technology using top notch race suspensions, seats, tires, steering wheel and electronic systems.
This monster is scheduled to compete at the 2011 Blancpain Endurance Series at the Circuito de Navarra in Spain.
