Every major car producer has a special subsidiary company called something like Special Operations. McLaren is not an exception and their Special Operation team develops some of the best and most impressive vehicles the world has ever seen. Today, they revealed a car named McLaren 650S Limited Edition and this vehicle is created in honor of the 20th anniversary of the incredible McLaren F1 GTR which won the 24 hours of LeMans race 20 years ago.
The new 650S Limited Edition is developed by taking inspiration from the honorable Chassis #01 F1 GTR which won the race back in its time. The new car received additional air intakes such as the one on the roof and with the installation of special fender vents at the front the whole racing character of the vehicle has been additionally highlighted. Changes include installation of new wheels, new brake calipers, bumpers, splitters and rear diffuser. All of these changes slightly transformed the 650S and everything has been finished with the special blue color.
McLaren said that 50 examples of these Limited Edition vehicles will be made and we guess the price will be just too much to be public. Well, those owning one or more of these amazing McLaren F1 cars will surely be the first to get in line for this anniversary edition 650S.
Besides receiving newly developed bumpers and aerodynamic kit, the McLaren 650S Limited Edition is powered by the same engine as the stock car. That means that the 3,8 liter V8 is good enough for 650 HP which enables the car to accelerate to 62 mph in three seconds flat. More impressive is the acceleration to 124 mph which lasts for 8,4 seconds. Well, this is a fast car and the Limited Edition is surely, a real performer.
