Lexus has finally done it. They have revealed a car with such powerful stature and a look intense enough to shatter all the suspicion anyone ever had about the company’s future. They are not dull anymore. And not only that, they have finally improved the L-finesse design philosophy to suit the coupes of all kind. After the RC, the magnificently good looking LC 500 reached the Detroit Auto Show and demonstrated its massive commitment to making the Lexus fun, engaging and exceptionally appealing.
With an all new built platform dubbed the GL-A and the stiffest unibody structure ever created by Lexus engineers, the massive coupe actually retained all the best features of lighter cars. Each and every feature of the LC 500 is created to lower the center of gravity and improve the driving characteristics. All the craze about lowering the center of gravity made Lexus to come up with a way to center the seats and the rest of the interior as much as possible. The Japanese were aiming to provide exceptional driving characteristics even when only the driver is in the car. At his disposal is a car with a lot of carbon fiber embedded in the body and a classic front engine-rear wheel drive layout that promises optimum performance.
True, we could ask for more power than that offered by the five liter V8 Lexus borrowed from the RC F. With 467hp, it is a nice muscle car engine and gives the awesome coupe the acceleration of the Aston Martin DB9. After 4,5 seconds you will reach 60 mph, but more importantly, you will look freaking awesome in the process. Any yes, all this greatness comes from the fact that Lexus did not have any intention of building this masterpiece. But after every single gearhead in the world had stressed the need for such a car, Lexus listened and delivered. Thank you Lexus!
