The Lexus GS F is on and it is not the competitor of the BMW M5 as everyone would like it to be. Lexus made a classic mistake with this one. They’ve made it so obsolete in comparison with the German super saloons that they’ve probably destroyed the coolness factor of the smaller jet more impressive IS F and RC F only by revealing this car. Don’t get us wrong. This is by no means a bad car. It has a five liter V8 for goodness sake, but when you compare it with the M5, it is something like a toy. Its engine is the same used for the RC F (Beemer never did that with their M3 and M5 cars) and the technology in this car is on par with the technology in the smaller performance car.
With 467 HP and 527 Nm of torque, this saloon is a hell of a car despite being slower than the German super saloons. It has some grunt and we recon it’ll do 0-62 mph in less than 5 seconds while the top speed is limited to 155 mph. That is exactly what is enough for the sporty aspirations of the drivers that will certainly enjoy driving this machine.
According to the official data, the GS F will be equipped with the Torque Vectoring Differential and it will have a sport tuned suspension with stiffer dampers and stiffer chassis. We are sure that this will provide the GS F with some serious sporty credentials with which it’ll put a smile on every face behind the wheel of this machine.
The GS F looks much better than before. It has an aggressive face with a large front opening and it is the closest thing to a bad getaway saloon that you could imagine.
All in all, this GS F is a nice car, but it cannot be compared with the likes of E63 AMG or BMW M5 which are powered by much more refined and modern engines.
