Jaguar F-Pace is marketed as one of the best sporty SUVs of all time. However, when pitched against the Porsche Macan, it somehow falls apart on the track. Yes, the Macan is considerably faster and radically different, but it is also 20 hp less on power compared with the Jag. So, how is it possible for a German car to be such a dominant machine on the track despite the power lack!? As it seems, the answer is in the details. The Porsche is just a better sorted out machine with every single bit on it working perfectly well in conjunction with the transmission, all-wheel drive system, and other systems.
Also, it may be that the Porsche is a tiny bit lighter and a bit more aerodynamic. Both cars feature six-cylinder turbocharged engines. The on in the Jag develops 380 hp and it sounds biblical. The one in the Porsche, on the other hand, moves around with 360 hp. This, however, is not the most Powerful Porsche Macan. This is a GTS and the one above this level is a Turbo. Imagine that one in a race against, more or less, anything else.
Finding the right balance between the power and weight is the trickiest part when designing the car and it seems Porsche did it just right. Although this review has taken place in Russia, you will still be able to understand that Porsche did a bit better job with their Macan compared with the Jag F-Pace. True, the Porsche is more expensive and c’mon it has a better name. Although, the Jag looks the business.
