Know Gymkhana? Of course you know, but that is not the only thing Ken Block does (forget about his WRC tries, he failed miserably). He also likes extreme snowboarding which means he has to get to the tips of mountains and that is trickier than it seems. The newest vehicle that’ll help him to go there (wherever “there” might be) is a Ford F-150 RaptorTrax. The car is based on the F-150 Raptor and it is as capable and as extreme as it looks.
Wheels were replaced with tracks which can go on mud, grass, asphalt, and of course, on snow.
Ken Block said that they’ve built this struck specifically for the task of transportation to the mountain tops, however, when you get to know that they’ve added so much power in it, it is clear that they want to have some fun.
This Ford F-150 RaptorTrax is powered by a 6,2 liter V8 engine which is additionally “decorated” with the Whipple supercharger. The result is a machine that develops somewhere around 650 HP. Even though it seems that such a Ford might use a LOT of fuel, this is apparently as fast as the motor sledges but not as expensive as a helicopter ride to the top. Therefore, you have to have a lot of money to do this kind of extreme snowboarding.
Apart from installing an extremely powerful engine, this F-150 RaptorTrax is equipped with all the bells and whistles needed for the successful off-roading (or better to say snow-roading).
