Fisker Karma is no more. Welcome the newest Karma Revero – a car that will be available for orders from September, 7 after its official reveal. As you may know, the car Henrik Fisker designed a few years ago went through a hell of legal issues and now, with the Karma Automotive company operative in California, we can expect it finally on the road. The Karma Revero is somewhat different from the Fisker Karma. The company deals with the BMW sourcing some powertrain parts and the battery system. That surely ups the credibility of the whole operation and then there is the factory in Southern California which is, allegedly, able to produce up to 3.000 units per year. That is a lot. Especially considering that the Karma Revero starts at more than $100,000.
The car is differed from the previous iterations thanks to some cosmetic tweaks and industry first “hand-painted badges”. Not a lot to go with that.
Nevertheless, Karma Automotive officials promised heavily redesigned and improved powertrains. Wiring, charging system and all of the ICE were adjusted and improved by quite a bit. Karma Revero will thus finally be reliable enough to be sold for the money Karma Automotive wants to take. Karma Automotive parent company Wanxiang Group is already working on an all new factory in China. There, they plan to produce up to 50,000 cars per year, with the capacity production for the Karma Atlantic peaking at 39,000 units. The Revero will be capped at 11,000 units obviously.
Revero will also receive a massive solar roof. This one will be powerful enough to feed some systems inside with electricity and it will also feed the batteries. Sure, don’t expect any miracles.
