World Rally Championship is hard and exciting. So hard that only some can complete the rally stages without problems. This is not a posh motorsport at all. There are sick obstacles, rather harsh gravel conditions, incredible narrow sections and fascinating jump ramps. Only the Rallycross can come close to the insanity WRC can throw at us. So, having a special compilation dedicated to the best WRC car jumps is not exactly a surprise. What is a surprise are the jumps.
The cars really can fly up to 150 feet in length, which is a world record recorded at Colins Crest at Rally Sweden where Eyvind Brynildsen jumped more than 147 feet in his Ford Fiesta R5 Evo a few months ago. And while this record is definitely amazing, it comes only at the third place in this five jump competition thing.
Some jumped high, some low, some reached a significant distance, some even jumped with the bonnet up with no way to see in front, but the most amazing jump came from a Russian dude in the Citroen C4 WRC. Russian driver Novikov had a spectacular jump at the Rally Finland in 2009. He jumped so high, that the car’s rear end was the first to hit the road again. Luckily, he just continued driving as hard as he could.
