Ford introduced the new Focus RS three months ago, however when they’ve showed it to the crowd at the Geneva Motor Show they didn’t reveal the exact power of the 2,3 liter engine residing inside. They’ve said it, rather cocky if we may say, that the engine inside develops north of 320 HP. Now, however, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed where the car was revealed to the UK public for the first time, they’ve announced the specs for the Focus RS engine. 350 HP and up to 346 lb ft of torque is the maximum engine power the 2,3 liter Ecoboost is able to develop.
We do not know really what kind of performance this engine can provide, but it is fair to expect that this four wheel drive car can accelerate to 62 mph in less than 5 seconds and it can reach more than 155 mph.
For now, we have this astonishing footage showing how the new Focus RS can drift its way wherever it goes. Also, it can do some donuts. Obviously, this magnificent car has been specially prepared to hit the Goodwood hill climb and it just might do the trick and become one of the fastest small hot hatches to do so. Its smart all wheel drive enables it to drift more easily than any other car in the segment and to prove its magnificence Ford will send Ken Block to show the crowds just what this thing can do. We guess it’ll be able to compete with cars such as the Audi RS3, the Golf R and even the Subaru WRX STI.
