Many consider Aston Martin cars to be exotics. In some sense they are, but it seems that Aston Martin has always been much more than that. It has been the epitome of nobility, the form of class and elegance and the ultimate representation of aristocracy and refinement. Ever since it was linked with James Bond, the cars Aston Martin produced perfectly fitted the rebel, yet, fantastically posh character of our favourite MI5 agent. Is the newest DB11 like that?
Although this Carthrottle video does not mention James Bond at all, it is easy to recognize that the Aston Martin DB11 captured all the essence of cars it succeeded. It is V12, it is elegant, sophisticated, yet, intricate in every detail and alluring. It is easy to dream in such a car.
Only hours after its pictures leaked to the Internet, Aston Martin received a multitude of orders. At the Geneva Motor Show the number grew rapidly and now, the guys at Gaydon have a whole lot of work to prove they can deliver what they have promised.
The embedded video walks us through the Aston Martin DB11 in a rather conventional fashion and that really is what we need. Although this is exotic, it has a whole lot of Grand touring car quality. It also has undeniable beauty and the speed to follow. New 5.2 liter engine with turbochargers pushes out 600 hp. Easily enough for 0-62 mph in 3,9 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. We cannot even foresee what the future has in store for us. Maybe even a 700hp or 750hp car. After all, the DB11 is an all new car with an all new architecture and it will serve as a basis for Aston Martin cars for years. It will almost become what the DB9 was.
