Ferrari 488 GTB is the first mid-engined Ferrari in a long time. Actually, it is the first since they produced the mighty Ferrari F40 back in the Eighties. The newest car on the road is easily fast enough to overthrow almost any other supercar of its kind. However, the biggest challenge it may have is to win over the Lamborghini Huracan. It is, in some way, the perfect counterpart to it despite all the differentiation between the two. First of all, the Lambo has all wheel drive system, massive naturally aspirated V10 at the back in the middle and all of the Audi knowledge to make all these things work flawlessly. The result is a super fast accelerating car with 610 hp engine.
Ferrari has 60 hp more, but it lacks all-wheel drive. That is the main reason we can see it lagging behind a bit at the start. However, it certainly caught up after a bit and then when the traction was at its peak, 60 hp more, a bit less weight and probably better aerodynamics, did their thing and launched the Ferrari forward.
Sure, racing these two Italian behemoths on the drag stip means only one thing – high-end speed. Both cars coped well with the surface and the end speed recorded was in excess of 200 mph which is, frankly, outstanding, considering that they did not have much track to work on.
The sheer tech specs actually confirm the Ferrari being dominant in all performance figure stuff, however, the real world test showed that the Lambo is actually a bit faster than what is stated in the book. Nevertheless, enjoy the race between the two of the most outrageous creations.
