While the Bentley Bentayga might be the fastest SUV in the world in terms of top speed, it lags quite a bit behind the extreme Tesla Model X P90D in terms of outright acceleration. That, however, did not stop crazy Russians to put the most anticipated Bentayga in years against the Porsche 911 Turbo. This is not a 991.2 version and it is not an “S”. However, the Russians did reveal that this white Porsche is tuned by Gosha Turbo meaning its power went up quite a bit. Apparently, its engine develops staggering 800hp. With all that power, it could easily take on a majority of tuned Nissan GT-Rs. Comparing it with an SUV is a bit odd.
Nevertheless, the W12 in the Bentley goes around with 608hp. Considering that the Bentley weights at least 40 percent more than the Porsche and has worse aerodynamics, we do not have to be rocket scientists to figure out who would win in the race.
What is interesting though is the fact that the Bentley Bentayga actually did not lag that much. OK, three seconds at the half-mile checkpoint are a bit absurd, but we have to point out that the Bentayga reached extraordinary 227 km/h (141 mph) at that point. Many SUVs – if not all, cannot do something like this. Furthermore, the Bentayga is full with garnishes such as leather, wood, best-crafted shapes and perfectly executed upholstery. The Porsche is not a spartan car at all, but it cannot be compared in terms of luxury with the amazing Bentayga.
Ok, the Bentayga is a bit ostentatious and, dare we say, ugly, but it is the ultimate representation of the SUV culture that’s shaking the world right at as we speak. It is hard to argue with numbers – people love SUVs so much that everyone is buying them and the Bentayga is on the top of the food chain – it is like the Bugatti Chiron of the SUV world – sick and neat at the same time.
