This is the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and it may be the best thing from Aston Martin since, well, actually, they have released so many awesome cars lately that we are not even sure how will this thing stack up against them. Nevertheless, the Vantage GT8 is the purest, meanest, most demanding and most amazing driver’s car Aston Martin currently produces. It is based on the classic Aston Martin Vantage, but the Brits did the only thing logical – removed excess weight, gave it a manual, a bit more power and a striking aero package for surviving fast speeds developed through the corners.
True, it may be a classic representation of a race car, but this thing is also a road going monster. It tips the scales at 3549 lbs which is 220 lbs less than the normal Vantage. It has carbon roof, titanium exhaust, carbon fiber winglets and aero pieces and all sorts of exotic materials on the inside. You may think that Aston Martin went the easy way and removed all the luxury from the inside to save 220 lbs. They didn’t. All important things are still inside the lightest Vantage ever. Infotainment system can access the Internet, the 160-watt sound system gives all the music one may need while air conditioning keeps everyone on the inside cool.
This is a cool machine 150 units of which are to be produced. Not a lot, but then again, only a special kind of a person will buy this car. The V8 4.7-liter naturally aspirated engine is still underneath the bonnet giving out 446hp and 490Nm of torque. Enough for all sort of atrocities. 60 in 4,4 and the top speed of 190 mph. Neat.
