We have seen the Porsche Macan racing the Jaguar F-Pace. Now, we are lucky to see a race where the Porsche 911 Turbo goes against the fastest and the most amazing Jaguar – the F-Type SVR. Sure, both cars are equally impressive, but, as before, Porsche seems to be a tough nut to crack.
So, first the details. Porsche is a rear-engined machine with four wheel drive and six-cylinder engine turbocharged to deliver 532 hp. That definitely is a lot of power from a small engine. In addition, Porsche has probably the most advanced launch control system in the world, so even the more powerful cars are having a lot of problems matching its of-the-line speed.
At the other end of a spectrum is the Jaguar F-Type SVR. Its engine is up front and it is a supercharged five-liter V8 delivering 568 hp. It is also an all-wheel drive car, but it also weighs 80 lbs more. The Porsche Ride on Michelin Pilot Sport Tires and the Jag on Pirelli P-Zero Rubber.
Considering all the facts, these two cars should be rather similar in their performance, but are they? Auto Express raced them and at the start of the video the presenter did say that this race should be very close indeed. So, was it!?
Well, we will let you watch it through and see all the amazing acceleration these two can do. However, we have to point out that the level of refinement and insanity Porsche injected into the magnificent 911 Turbo is fantastic. Imagine them letting the Turbo S race the Jag. Something incredible would happen. Watch the race and enjoy this fantastic acceleration video.
