Doug DeMuro bought a Viper. Really, a Viper. The one from 1997. And yes, it is a GTS with the signature blue color and awesome white stripes. As you may imagine, this is not exactly a car you see every day. It is a Viper – only badass people drive it and only some of them actually survive. Nevertheless, Doug DeMuro is here to show us all about his Viper adventures. For one, the car he drives is in fairly good condition, but his latest video is here to show us just how many weird quirks and stuff his car has. And it is quite a lot it would seem.
Now, this video is awesome as it walks us through some special things the Viper has and we do not have a clue about. For example, the third rear brake light is actually a Dodge Viper Logo. When one presses the brakes it lights up. Cool. Like, American cool.
Other interesting features include unusual rear tires – extremely wide on a 17-inch wheel. Bear in mind this car has an enormous 8 liter V10 engine. For the GTS it developed 450hp. While that certainly sounds like “not-a-lot-for-the-engine-of-this-size”, be certain it is enough to twist your mind along with the 490.0 ft lbs of torque.
The official specs did provide us with a glimpse of its savagery. The GTS was able to hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. However, some did clock it hitting 60 in only 4 seconds. We are not even surprised as the car was fairly simple, had an enormous engine and tipped the scales at 3,360 lbs. All in all, Doug found himself quite a car. Sure, it is the manliest sports car ever. Everything is macho about it and even Doug DeMuro acknowledged that showing us just how hard is to operate every single thing. Nevertheless, we definitely look forward to watching the adventures DeMuro will have with his car.
