Citroen will be taking rally car driving off the tracks and put in on the roads with the 2011 Citroen DS3 R3. This car was based on FIA’s new Group R3T guidelines. The production car will have the same looks and structural design with that of the rally car and it comes with the entire package of a multi-point roll cage, reinforced welded body shell, tubular wishbone suspensions and all the bits of thrill coming from a rally car.
The suspension has been made to be adjustable to different road conditions and this reflects how responsive the DS3 R3 is on tight corners.
The DS3 R3 has a heart of a competitor with sleek styling and astounding performance this car still comes on a price that everybody will love.
Fitted under the hood is an inline four 1.6 liter high pressure turbo petrol engine that can generate a superb 210 bhp with a whopping 258 lb ft of torque. Paired with the engine is a 6 speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox. Citroen is claiming that the transmission will allow you to change gears twice as fast than a conventional gearbox. These are just clear indications that this little monster means business and ready to pounce on the tracks.
