Caterham in collaboration with Lola made a low slung racer who’s ready to take any challenge on the race tracks. This speedster was unveiled at the Autosport International.
Its aerodynamic design features a flat underbody, front splitter and a massive rear wing. This is also uses an aluminum tube chassis which helps in weight reduction, better body rigidity and driver safety. AP racing breaks were installed right beside its colossal wheels and used a full race suspension that can be adjusted to change its ride height. One unique feature of this racing car is its lightweight body panels which can be removed only by one person instead of three.
Total weight of this car reached only 600 kg or 1,332 lb. The heart of this beast is a 2.0 liter Ford Duratec engine which can spit nearly up to 300 bhp. They paired this powerplant to a Hewland semi-automatic FTR transmission and the combination will blast the SP 300.R from 0-60 mph in a staggering 2.5 seconds. Estimated top speed is ranged at 170 mph or 274 km/h.
Price tag is set to start at £60,000 and will be a limited production of 25 units per year.
