The BMW M2 is out for car reviewers to test it and they are thrilled. Carfection guy (previously – XCar) had a go in one and what he found out will amaze you – the BMW M2 may well be the best M car of today and it may even be the best M car of all time. Built around the newest BMW 2 series architecture, the M2 actually has quite a bit of weight with only a tad less than the mighty BMW M4. However, due to its compact size, smaller wheelbase, and smaller footprint, the M2 tends to be nimbler, more focused and far more fun to drive.
As it is basically the same size as the BMW M3 Coupe from 1995, the M2 certainly has dimensions on his side. Many have decided before that the 3 series Coupe e36 is a perfectly sized car so no wonder everyone easily falls in love with the M2.
It has an engine from the M3/M4, it has limited slip differential, awesome M brakes, M suspension and M Dynamic mode (easier drifting). It has all the gizmos in the world and despite slightly less power from its engine, it gives its driver the ultimate excitement factor only M cars from before (without all these gizmos) could give you.
BMW Motorsport made it again. They have made an incredible creation with 385hp and enough speed to spin your head around. This is the most fun you can have in a car today. Perhaps only the Porsche Cayman GT4 could stack against it in the pursuit of the ultimate old school analog-like thrill.
