The resemblance of elegance and subtleness… but on the road it’s an angry beast ready to go wild and it will roar from its docile state when you floor the throttle. It has a 4.2 liter V8 engine, 444 bhp with 317lb ft of torque and can shoot from 0-100 kph in just 4.6 seconds. Traction control or grip is one of the key things on this car. When cutting through corners it can be compared to a gum stuck on the road. The reason behind this is because it’s a four wheel drive menace and the RS5 has a set of extremely smart differentials, a cent re one which divides torque through an automatic crown-gear set. This divides its raw power to up to 70 percent to the front wheels and up to 85 percent to the rear. Its sport differential also divides torque between the rear wheels. The RS5 has a twin-clutch transmission and graded to a seven speed system and handles the power quite astonishingly. Setting this beast to manual mode will let you feel it’s massive torque.
This is the third RS model now on sale from Audi, the TT RS, the RS6 saloon and Avant, and the “new toy on the block”-the RS5. Audi is turning into the manufacturer of effortless speed no matter what the road conditions are or the skill of the driver. Through the cutting-edge refinement and technical development,
Audi, for the first time, produced an RS model which can stand on every competition on its class. The RS5 is a proper four-seat coupe with a tamed V8 engine. It’s simple, honest and what every V8 should be.
