Super Trofeo racing series is a host for the best possible Lamborghini Huracans. Specially made race cars dubbed the Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 Super Trofeo racecar are on the track in the RWD form. While the racing series seems to be rather exciting, we cannot see many people following it. Lamborghini maybe only wants to keep the thing for a special few by not promoting it too much. To prove the insanity of the cars racing here, we are greeted with this rather amazing video of 47 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo RWD race cars thundering down the track on Italy’s Monza Autodrome. The sight is mesmerizing, to say the least. The cars Lamborghini sent out to track are specially bred for this purpose. Hybrid carbon/aluminum construction ensures exceptional rigidity and stiffness while at the same time keeping the weight down.
Official data suggest this thing weighs only 2.800 lbs which is, quite frankly, astonishing considering it has an enormous engine and a massive transmission. Nevertheless, the 620hp car is quite different compared to the standard Huracan people buy. Its overall shape is slightly changed due to transmission pushed all the way to the back. With this setup, the aerodynamic characteristic becomes even better and it enables weight distribution of 48/52 percent front/rear. Such a machine has a weight to power ratio of 2,05 kilograms per 1 hp which is quite extreme, to say the least.
RWD setup is in place thanks to GT series racing regulations. Super Trofeo is part of it and this series additionally proves that Lamborghini is built on strong racing foundations forged right on the tracks of the Super Trofeo Series.
