BMW 3 series is one of the all time greatest. BMW has produced it for 40 years now and it has been quite an undertake to create the perfect executive limousine, but Beemer was successful. Of course, the most amazing BMW 3 series cars have been produced ever since the BMW Motorsport reworked the 3 series for a touring car championship. After the homologation, the M3 was born and the rest is history. The BMW M3 remained, to this day, the epitome of what a sporty coupe or a performance limousine should and ought to be.
As all other cars on the road, the 3 series has grown significantly since its inception back in 1975, but the design changes never made BMW redesign it radically. Even the newest F30 is close to the magnificence of the original 3 series. It is different, of course, but it successfully captures the spirit of the old one.
BMW produced approximately 15 million BMW 3 series with more than half of them being sedans. In the meantime, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Lexus, Cadillac, Alfa Romeo and others crafted their own compact executive limousines, but the buyers are still very much in love with the 3 series as it still is the best performing sedan on the market.
