It’s small, it’s light and it’s front wheel drive! Fortunately, Mini made it and it uses the biggest and most powerful engine ever installed in a Mini. This is the new Mini Cooper John Cooper Works and, with its two liter turbocharged BMW engine developing 231 HP, it is the most powerful and the fastest small city car in the world. The only car that can reach the level of lunacy of the new Cooper JCW is the Audi S1, but that car is just too expensive and it will not be produced in large numbers.
The 2015 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works is a type of a car that accepts modern touches and contemporary technology, which means the car is equipped with best electronic driving aids you can think off. We will name just a few: Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) and Performance Control, while the Dynamic Damper Control is optionally available. Reading this it is hard not to remember the BMW M cars. We guess that the Mini engineers called their colleagues in Munich and asked them what could they use for the newest and hottest Mini of all times. Besides integrating newest electronic aids, Mini retuned the suspension, developed all new 17 inch wheels behind which large Brembo brakes are hidden. Moreover, the Mini JCW received thichel rollover bars, bigger front air intakes and wonderful JCW livery we’ve all heard about.
In comparison with the “normal” Cooper, the JCW is is much faster and it is available with six speed manual transmission or with six speed automatic. Interestingly, the version with the automatic is more fuel efficient and faster. Official performance figures suggest that the Mini JCW can accelerate to 62 mph in 6.1 seconds and it can reach more than 130 mph.
