You probably never heard of this car company before and if do, you’re most likely one of the rich and famous sailing on his yacht every weekends or… maybe you’re just one of the car addicts who writes and reads about them. The car company that were talking about is Automobiles Gillet and they are about to release a new madness, it’s the 2011 Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit. This is a Belgian car manufacturer ready to blow your mind.
This is surely more drooling than the sweetest chocolate. Its body design is really impressive and what’s even more astounding is that it is made of carbon fiber material and this whole exotic car just weighs 950 kilos. Standing on gorgeous 19 inch rims, a unique suspension system was also installed using 2 superimposed wishbones, with two cross arms at the back while push shocks and springs at the front.
The interior is upholstered with handcrafted brown leather. To be honest though, there is nothing fancy in its cabin, simple dials, knobs and gauges and there’s not much of an elegant feel to it. But in areas it seems to lack, it over flourishes in other aspects.
The heart of the Vertigo .5 Spirit is taken from the massive powerplant of the Maserati which is a 4.2 liter V8 engine mated to a six speed sequential gearbox that monstrously breathes 420 bhp. With a lightweight body and tremendous power at hand, this is surely a performer on or off the tracks.
