The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is back this 2011 and it’s back with pure insanity! The Corvette Grand Sport was a nameplate that was first used in 1996 and this was again reintroduced in 2010 and replaced the Z51 model. This was a total blast last year and it accounted to approximately 50% of all coupe sales and 70% of all convertible sales in the US.
The heart of this Corvette is an LS3 based engine and features a unique wide body styling with racing bred suspension. This 2011 it will be offered a new magnetic ride control that improves the car’s handling and stability, a stunning set of wheels and paddle shifts for the automatic transmission option.
The powertrain of the Grand Sport is a 6.2 liter V8 engine that is mated to a six speed manual or six a speed automatic. This can generate a colossal 430 bhp with 424 lb ft of torque. There is an optional two mode exhaust system that increases the car’s muscle to 436 bhp with 428 lb ft of torque.
This is another creation from Chevrolet and they expect the Grand Sport to continue its reputable sales this year.
